Unfortunately, now that we're in Iraq, I think we'll be there for a while. Abandoning the country to civil war will only lead to greater instability, not only in the middle east but all over the globe. The last thing we need is another weakly governed country (like Afghanistan under the Taliban) to provide shelter for rogues. And let's face it -- we destabilized Iraq and now we owe it to the Iraqis to recreate some semblance of a secure society there. The mistake was invading in the first place. Thanks, George. Can you say "quagmire"?
