Two thoughts from Up North this weekend. Novak Djokovic is back on track after his Wimbledon hiccup, winning Toronto over Kei Nishikori in straight sets. Despite claiming his record 30th Masters 1000 title, I definitely thought he looked beatable -- which means the U.S. Open is up for grabs.

Meanwhile in Montreal, Simona Halep defeated No.10 seed Madison Keys to defend her Rogers Cup title. Halep played a truly bizarre semi in which she and Angie Kerber took turns winning six games in a row. The final, however, kind of broke my heart because despite having a game to be a real contender, I'm becoming convinced Madison Keys doesn't have what it takes mentally to be a Grand Slam champ.

The Summer Games means more opportunities to drool over America's himbo sweetheart. Ryan Lochte. It's been too long since we saw him in a tiny Speedo.
