Trying Too Hard

When did even (presumably) well-meaning people get to be so dumb?

You have the right idea -- white privilege and the disenfranchisement of minorities and the poor are real things. But hectoring people for no reason isn't helping to accomplish anything except make you look like a fool.

Ending entitlement for one group is good, but just shifting it to another group does not get rid of entitlement. We should all have equal treatment, and equal expectations, both socially and legally. That will take a lot of work to achieve, but it's where we need to go.

Everyone has the right to express their opinion. Even those who want to suppress other people's opinions. Those folks, whatever their color and sexuality, shouldn't be allowed to get away with it, but they should be heard.

Stating that someone cannot have an opinion on a topic, much less share it, because of the color of their skin is racist. Plain and simple. Perhaps this person could educate us as to what particular cirmcumstances would excuse or justify Smollett faking a hate crime. Perhaps then this angry individual might achieve some of the change they may be seeking. That would be far more productive than retreating into the Fuck You Whitey camp.

Why is there an assumption this guy is smart? I only see someone who is so afraid of having a conversation they resort to, "Im right, youre wrong. Period." Pretty stupid in my opinion.

Wealth signaling? There is not way anyone can justified or excuse Smollett's stupid act. I see people playing the race card or worse blaming the police.
