Reading Is Fundamental

Going to the library was one of my favorite activities as a child -- my stepfather (Gary) would take my brothers and our little sister every weekend to the Mesa Public Library and we'd stay there for hours. But as I got older, I starting buying books instead, and I can't even remember the last time I had a library card. Interesting to see what the Top 10 books checked out of the New York Public Library system were this year. Unlike Billboard's list of top singles, I actually know some of these!

  1. “Leaving Time” by Jodi Picoult
  2. “The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins
  3. “Go Set a Watchman” by Harper Lee
  4. “NYPD Red 3” by Marshall Karp and James Patterson
  5. “Prodigal Son” by Danielle Steel
  6. “Gone Girl” by Gillian Flynn
  7. “Not That Kind of Girl” by Lena Dunham
  8. “In the Unlikely Event” by Judy Blume
  9. “The Paying Guests” by Sarah Waters
10. “Grey” by E. L. James
