Sequel to Gay Favorite 'Trick' in the Works

TEASER - So this is in the works....... just in time for the 20th (!!!) anniversary of TRICK next year. (Thank you Jayson Rivest for this amazing teaser image) — with Miss Coco Peru and Steve Hayes.

Just over the moon to see this on Facebook today. "Trick" holds such a special place in my heart, having come out right around the time I arrived in New York. I've always described it as "the most romantic movie about a hookup of all time" -- has there ever been a cuter guy than J.P. Pitoc? -- but really it's so much more. That it's never made it to the digital renting stage -- I've been dying to watch it with Damian -- is a crime. Maybe this sequel will finally give it the acclaim it so richly deserves.

Trompe-l'oeil

In the new issue of Out, my friend and artist Scooter LaForge pays furry tribute to the mag's 1999 cover story on gay-for-pay actors Christian Campbell and J.P. Pitoc, who turned in one convincing performance in Jim Fall's near-classic film "Trick."

Morning Wood: J.P. Pitoc

Logo was counting down the greatest gay movies of all time this weekend, and I happened to catch part its No. 7 pick, "Trick." I remember how swept away I was when I first saw it back in 1999, that a movie about a would-be one-night-stand could be so utterly romantic. It gave me and all the boys in Chelsea hope that Mr. Right might be standing right there at g ready to hook up that night, but also ready fall in love later. It certainly didn't hurt that sexy J.P. Pitoc played the go-go boy of few words Mark.
Sadly, the Queens-born Pitoc, who was romantically linked to Carol Burnett's daughter Erin for a time (how fun of a mother-in-law might that have been?), has only appeared in small parts on a few television shows since then. It would be nice to see more of him.

(I can't help but wonder if J.P.'s nickname is the same as his character Mark's ...)
