30 Rock, 1 Tree

With 30,000 lights and nearly as many onlookers, there's no denying the holiday season is upon us now that the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lights were turned on tonight. The tree will be up until January 7 -- ice skating, too! -- and then it will be turned into lumber for Habitat for Humanity. To learn more about the 74-foot Norway spruce that's helping bring the spirit of the season to the city, click HERE.

Sacha Harding Is a Movember Man!

And for future generations of bathroom masturbators, may I suggest English rugby player Sacha Harding's Movember campaign?

Harding is also the latest rugby stud to pose for a gay publication.

Movember Ad Watch

With a HUGE thanks to Daniel: It would be most fitting if this were my final Movember-related post this year, because this nearly forgotten ad for English Leather Musk completely consumed me as a teen, and (I feel) shaped my sexual desires for life. This guy -- WHO is this guy?! -- drove the adolescent me (and Version 44.0) completely wild, with his shy bedroom eyes, goofy ears and wavy hair. (I always thought Johnny Davenport was to blame for my wavy hair fetish, but now I remember whose locks really teased me first.) Although I had one long-term Latin lover, Mr. Musk set the tone for my all-American with facial hair leanings -- something that has sparked complaints from readers over the years, to which I say this is my blog, so a reflection of my tastes. (If I blogged for The Advocate or Out, then I think it would be fair to expect more diversity, but this is a one-man operation, so give me a break.) If anyone has more info on this guy, my Movember would be complete. And even if they don't, I'm just happy to revisit him. In fact, I may lock myself in the bathroom tonight ... for old times' sake.

Most-Searched Stories of 2011

I don't use Bing, but for what's it's worth, here are its most-searched terms of 2011:

1. Casey Anthony Trial
2. Osama bin Laden Death
3. Hurricane Irene
4. Japan Earthquake/Tsunami
5. Amy Winehouse Death
6. Joplin Tornado
7. Michael Jackson trial/Conrad Murray
8. 9/11 10 Year Anniversary
9. Republican Candidates -- Herman Cain, Rick Perry
10. Haiti anniversary

For individuals, Justin Bieber topped the list, followed by Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Aniston, Lindsay Lohan and Jennifer Lopez.

What all this says about us as a nation? Ya got me.

Nick Bracks Goes Down Under(wear)

Aussie "it" boy Nick Bracks is using his family name, notoriety and dashing good looks to laugh all the way to the bank. The handsome 24-year-old, who recently appeared on his country's upcoming season of "Dancing With the Stars," has just launched a new line of men's undergarments -- underBRACKS -- and from the looks of things, he was smart enough to use his best attribute in the promotion. Lest you think he's a total himbo, however, Nick is donating $3 from every purchase to Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), and includes a pink wristband with each pair. A used cock ring would probably boost sales more rapidly, but I suppose it's the thought that counts.

Goodbye, Movember

You may not be sad to see Movember end, but this guy sure is!

Morning Wood

It's the last day of Movember, so you knew there'd be another mo-tastic Morning Wood man greeting you today. I know plenty of you are sick and tired of all the 'stache talk. But your patience is greatly appreciated -- and trust me, the guys who love it have been VERY appreciative, so why not throw 'em a bone? See more of Mr. Movember HERE.

Moron: Car Coming / Watch Out or You Will Be Squashed / That's Why Cars Have Horns

For a city that's constantly crying poor, I admire New York's new "haiku traffic signs." Long live the arts!

Nick Bracks Is No Turkey

Got the cutest e-mail today from a Dutch reader who attempted to visit my blog while on business in Turkey. He writes:

I was trying to get my blog fix while on a business trip in Turkey and realised that more sites than I thought have been blocked. Thought you'd be amused to know that your blog is blocked here in Istanbul (which also happens to have the area code 212). The reason? 'Intimate Apparel & Swimwear'. Ah, the joys of censorship!

Clearly, the censors know what they're talking about! Case in point: Meet Nick Bracks above -- the model/underwear designer/bad-boy son of former Victorian premier Steve Bracks -- who recently appeared on "Dancing With the Stars" in Australia. Nick graces the cover of the current issue of the gay men's magazine DNA. (I adore his pomp!) Asked point black if he was gay or not, the 24-year-old replied: "I don't want to pigeonhole myself and I know that life changes every day, so who knows? I'm not ruling anything in life out." Well then, neither is every gay man on the planet!

As sexy as Tom Selleck was in his infamous Salem cigarette ad, wait'll you see his first commercial -- for Safeguard deodorant soap -- in which a pre-mustachioed Tom makes all the women at the office swoon, including Teri Garr and Penny Marshall!

Tim Tebow Discusses His Battle With 'Position by Body Stereotypes'

Amateur circumcisionist and Broncos QB Tim Tebow discusses his bestselling memoir, "Through My Eyes," in the new issue of Extraordinary Health. In it, the cover boy talks about how his body type -- 6' 3" and 245 pounds -- left him stereotyped as a certain position, which I'm assuming is a Christian euphemism for "bottom."

A Patrick Dempsey Mo-Mance?

Movember Foundation president Adam Garone tries to talk Patrick Dempsey into becoming a Mo Bro at a Livestrong event in Austin -- he could talk me into anything! -- a charitable move that led to nothing but mockery for former Rep. Anthony Weiner.

Roger Federer Ends 2011 on a High Note

While I don't think Roger Federer's win at the ATP Tour finals yesterday in London is a huge deal as far as what's to come in 2012 -- Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal were both clearly there out of obligation only -- I do think it's a HUGE deal for Roger himself, who still managed to win after blowing it while serving for the match in the second set and squandering a match point in the resulting tiebreak. After losing a number of huge matches after having match point -- including to Nole at this year's U.S. Open and last -- I'm not sure he could handle it psychologically to let yet another one slip away. Ending the year 17-0 has gotta feel good, and now having the most six titles puts in the record books once again.
