In 'They/Them,' Camp Crystal Lake Meets 'But I'm a Cheerleader'

Having spent my closeted youth obsessively watching horror movies -- "Motel Hell," "He Knows You're Alone," "Eyes of a Stranger," you name it, plus my friend Mike and I wrote our own screenplay for "The Babysitter"! -- I almost can't believe this film is actually happening.

"They/Them" synopsis:
When a group of LGBTQ+ campers arrives at Whistler Camp -- a conversion camp run by Owen Whistler (Kevin Bacon) -- they are promised a “new sense of freedom” by the end of the week. But as the counselors attempt to psychologically break down each of the campers, a mysterious killer starts claiming victims, and they must reclaim their power if they’re going to survive the horrors of the camp.

Award-winning screenwriter John Logan’s directorial debut to premiere on Peacock Friday, Aug. 5.
