Better Off Ed?

Order HERE.

Independent filmmaker Ed Burns went from 'The Brothers McMullen' to the bottom — and back again

Burns' new memoir, 'Independent Ed,' looks at his rise, fall and return as a sought-after director. Burns almost became a leading man after 'Saving Private Ryan.'

Strange. It never occurred to me that Ed Burns' career -- and entire life, really -- was anything other than exactly how he wanted it to be. Handsome. Great wife. Great family. Great career. Knows Connie Britton. What more could you ask for? Read HERE

Ed Burns will discuss his book, “Independent Ed,” at Barnes & Noble Union Square, 33 E. 17th St., on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Brotherly Love?

Ed Burns writing ‘Brothers McMullen’ sequel

Not sure how I feel about this. Sometimes it best to leave a classic alone ...

He's the One

With that other blue-eyed Long Island Irish love of mine, Ed Burns, after a screening of his latest, "The Fitzgerald Family Christmas." The film is one of the year's best -- the New York Times LOVED it -- and is available via iTunes for those who don't live in NYC. Download it HERE

Connie Britton and Mike McGlone (below, right) return to the big screen with their favorite Mick, in a film that closely mirrors the writer/director's earlier family-driven works.

Ed Burns Does Best Life

Not even 24 hours since I "apologized" for being so fixated on Eddie Burns, who should I see staring back at me on the cover of the new Best Life? Like he's not handsome enough normally, check out how he cleans up in suits by Ralph Lauren. The interview by Rob Tannenbaum is a must-read for all Ed fans, and the mag's Web site also features a cute video Q&A with him. (Photos by Richard Phibbs)
