The New York Times headline seemed written for me -- Laura Mvula Set Her Sound Free. It Ended Up in the ’80s -- with the article explaining that after five years between albums, the award-winning English songwriter changed everything, trading orchestras for synthesizers and cranking up the beat.
So I quickly went to YouTube to see what all the excitement was about and while this single definitely has an '80s throwback feel, it was the opening scenes of the video that really caught my attention! (Huh?)
