Another discovery from my Barbra Streisand hole: Turns out she did another album with Barry Gibb -- the genius behind her "Guilty" masterpiece -- and even covered his brother Andy's "(Our Love) Don't Throw It All Away," which I always thought should have been his fourth No. 1 single.

Song of the Day: 'I Just Want to Be Your Everything' by Andy Gibb
Still on an Andy Gibb binge since hearing this one at John Cameron Mitchell's sublime Mattachine party on Thursday. What people don't remember, however, is that in addition to this No. 1 smash -- which I recorded perfectly off the radio onto my tape recorder I got for Christmas in '76 until my parents ruined it by talking in the background! -- Andy had a slew of other hits, including the No. 1 singles "(Love Is) Thicker Than Water" and "Shadow Dancing," plus Top 10s "Desire," "An Everlasting Love" and "(Our Love) Don't Throw It All Away" (his second-best song, IMHO), and Top 15s "I Can't Help It" (with Olivia Newton-John) and "Time Is Time." Three albums during a life cut shot by drugs, but a legacy that has truly stood the test of time. Fun news: All three -- long out of print -- are now available on iTunes.
