Feel the Spin

It's getting increasingly hard for me to argue that this was better than paying $9.99/month for access to *every* album in this store ... but in my heart I still swear it was! 😎❤️🎵

My brain is just not wired for names, but I can put a song to cover art; so with albums I could go to a shelf and see that is what I want to hear. But to think I want to hear that song that went da da dum da dur dam, that had a 62 Healey 100/6 on the cover...dosen't work

I wasted a lot of time there- but it was more fun to discover stuff live than by typing

I just hate seeing posts like this because it reminds me how much I LOVED walking around record stores. Discovering a hard to find import, or even learning about an artist that wasn't on my radar. Record stores provided an experience that streaming music just cannot match. Do not get me wrong, I love having access to a seeminly endless catalog of music, but interacting with the staff who had a passion for music (in most cases) and being able to pick up the album/cd, was special. I do not know if it is because I am getting "older" but it feels like the algorhythms associated with streaming services keep you in a certain lane. Which can be a problem if you enjoy a wider variety of music. And I totally zoomed in on the pic to check out the longbox covers!!
