Saw "Don Jon" with Michael over the weekend and must say I was duly impressed. Although I was a little skeptical of Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing the ultimate player-stud -- despite the 'roid-ready bod -- it's a well-written and beautifully acted story about love, relationships and sex in the Internet age where the pornographic alternative is at your fingertips 24 hours a day. That he wrote and directed it too shows he's a real force to be reckoned with. Scarlett Johansson was almost unrecognizable as a social-climbing Italiana -- not physically so much as EVERYTHING else -- and Julianne Moore delivers a wonderfully understated performance of a wonderfully overstated person that you will not forget anytime soon.
