It took nearly 10 years, but with the Obama administration's successful assassination of Osama bin Laden, our country's "mission" has finally been accomplished. (Remember,
this is why we invaded Afghanistan after Sept. 11, 2001?) I'm happy (and relieved) by the news. I only hope the victims' families -- especially
our friend David Charlebois' -- feel the same way, and then some.

(I know we in the media have a hard time deciding how to spell a lot of Arabic names, and I admit that I don't watch a lot of Fox cable news. But I had no idea that 10 years later, they are still spelling the most wanted terrorist in the history of the world's name
Usama. Was this always their preferred spelling, or was this some attempt to keep anchors from
accidentally saying Obama when they meant Osama?)
Of course, it's better than this crap:

The strange fact that in nearly 10 years of press coverage I have personally never seen his name spelled with a "U" sends an Orwellian chill down my spine.
I'm too lazy to check, but I'd bet Fox News never used the "Usama" spelling back in 2008.
Sigh. Apparently some Fox affiliates didn't get the memo...
FOX40 News: Obama bin Laden Dead
Beats the heck out of Obama bin Laden as also seen on Fox while reporting his death.
Can't wait for someone clamoring for OBL's long form death certificate just to prove he's dead. :D
