It's World AIDS Day -- my friend Jean took this photo of the White House yesterday -- and while we remember the loved ones we have lost to this insidious disease, recent news about preventative HIV therapies give us some of the best news we've had since the introduction of antiretroviral "cocktails" in the mid-'90s that made the idea of living with the virus a reality for many. Still, there is much work to be done. So keep HIV/AIDS organizations in your thoughts if you do any end-of-the-year tax-deductible donations.
