Reality Bites

Prosecutors say there is not enough evidence to file charges against Johnny Pride, a Santa Clarita City Council candidate and reality TV contestant arrested on suspicion of raping two 14-year-old girls. Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says the 26-year-old, who has appeared on the shows "Conveyor Belt of Love" on ABC and "Battle of the Bods" on Fox, was released from jail on Saturday. I'm assuming the whole thing was a big misunderstanding, one I'd be more than happy to have him re-enact on me.

We are all, rightly, aghast over the horrifying cases of child molestation and rape by Catholic priests; to joke, even casually, about child abuse is not acceptable. Come on Kenneth, there are plenty of hot boys all over the place, you find them and post them daily under Morning Wood and other hotties, to offer up for a gratuitous fantasy moments.

[Innocent until proven guilty is appropriate here; certainly prosecutors are unable to prove a case. And it is reasonable to wonder whether the girls have manufactured a story; just like it is reasonable to wonder what this 26 year-old's contact with 14 year-olds.]

I usually don't say anything about this, but don't you think it's a little tasteless to be lusting after an alleged pedophile? I mean even if he's found not guilty, maybe you'd want to wait a little bit before professing interest to "hit that."
