Earlier in the week I was wondering what the deal was with Sam Querrey's
shirtless fan club. (Why don't ALL players have these?) I've since learned they are a bunch of the California native's best friends from high school -- known as The Samurai -- who, as you can see, paint their chests and generally go crazy during his matches, following their friend around from tournament to tournament. Crazy as it sounds, it appears to be paying off. Querrey ended a streak of final round losses on Sunday, defeating Carsten Ball of Australia, 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, to win the L.A. Tennis Open. The victory will move him -- and The Samurai -- to a career-high No. 26 in the ATP rankings.
