David Beckham: Coming to America?

He already named one of his kids Brooklyn, now comes word that David Beckham is considering a post-Europe soccer career in the United States. "I want to play at the highest level for a few more years yet. I've got that planned out," Beckham said Thursday at England's World Cup training camp. "Going to America is one of the ideas that I've thought of in the future." Could be fun. It could also be American soccer's last chance. If Becks' joining MLS doesn't take it to the next level, I think it's safe to say nothing will ... (AP)

sweeeeeeet I hadn't heard of this - I'm in Toronto, but if Becks is in the US at least he's a LOT closer to me geographically than he is right now....so I have a greater chance of stalk.....er, seeing him play ;)

I hope that he does come to the US. He'll get the richly deserved respect that so many of his fellow countrymen deny him. He's a fantastic footballer, and from all reports, a brilliant human being. He'll bring something sadly lacking in US sports - a sense of genuine warmth, kindness, and universal acceptance.
No he's not Ghandi, just a refreshing breeze.
