One Night in Sofia

The bromance between Novak Djokovic and Grigor Dimitrov was on full display Monday night in Bulgaria -- where the two of them put on quite an "exhibition.” View BELOW.

Tennis Tuesday: Grigor Dimitrov

At 32, Grigor Dimitrov seems to be on the upswing. He just won his first title since 2017, pushing his ranking back toward the Top 10. And now he's the new face -- and body -- of Lacoste. See his turn as tennis's latest underwear model BELOW.

Tennis Tuesday

It's hard to really say if Grigor Dimitrov didn't become tennis's next big thing because his career overlapped with the Big Three or if it's that he didn't quite have what it takes. But once thing's for sure: He's a living doll who's fun to dress up! See BELOW.

Tennis Tuesday

Grigor Dimitrov isn't likely to be much of a threat when the U.S. Open begins later this month. But his body sure is built Ford tough, as you can see BELOW.

A Few Good Men

Kudos celebrity photographer John Russo, who who managed to land six of my favorite tennis players for this leather-daddy fashion spread in the Gio Journal. "Tennis is basically my favorite sport," Russo said on Instagram. "So photographing [Dominic Thiem] and 22 of the world’s top [ATP] players for [GIO Journal] was pretty much my version of hitting the lottery!!!"

Weekend Tennis Roundup

There were no major men's events this week —just more Davis Cup qualies — so it became the perfect time for four diminished standouts in the women's game to reclaim the spotlight. In the end it was Madison Keys and Garbine Muguruza who were victorious.

The USTA reports that Madison Keys claimed the first clay-court title of her career Sunday, winning the Volvo Car Open in Charleston, S.C. Keys defeated No. 5 seed Caroline Wozniacki, 7-6, 6-3, in the championship match to cap off a fine week on the green clay, her last tournament in the U.S. before the European red clay-court season begins. It was the American's first title in 18 months and her first final since recovering from knee and wrist injuries. It was also her first win over the Great Dane -- whose run to the final was her best performance in quite some time, too -- and first win over Sloane Stephens (in the quarterfinals).

Despite the loss, I think we can all agree Caroline went home with the biggest trophy ...

Meanwhile in Monterrey, Mexico, No. 2 seed Garbine Muguruza successfully defended her title at the Abierto GNP Seguros. While it was good for her to finally be on the winning side of things, that she was only defending points almost made Victoria Azarenka runner-up status the more noteworthy result. Unfortunately, no sooner did the Belarusian finally find her form -- knocking out Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Angie Kerber along the way -- she got injured in the final and had to retire, trailing 6-1, 3-1. Here's hoping she's able to rebound and build on this long-sought success. (Did I mention no one cared that she didn't have protected ranking when she returned from childbirth?)

So I said the women dominated the headlines on court. But that's not to say the men weren't the big winners off ... where they put their best, um, features forward in preparation for the clay season.

Grigor Dimitrov wanted to pump up his legs in time ...

for his hot date with Kyle Edmund ...

And in the most subtle use of the word since Christina Aguilera, Borna Coric captioned this one: "Time to get dirty" ...

Weekend Tennis Roundup

Like the namesake city where it's played, the Miami Open is all about beautiful people and beautiful food. So while there was some noteworthy action -- Thiem, Pouille, Khachanov, Nishikori, Wawrinka, Cilic and Zverev lost early in the men's draw, and Osaka, Stephens, Keys, Bencic and Kerber lost early in the women's, with Angie losing for the second week in a row to Andreescu, whom the German called "the biggest drama queen" as they were shaking hands(!) -- there was plenty to see elsewhere, too.

Not to sound like Miranda after Skippy got a new girlfriend, but has Kevin Anderson been working out?

You know Filip Krajinovic is my new boyfriend, but then I saw Novak's baby brother (far right) ... hello, Djordje!

I think Diego Schwartzman has an eye for photography ...

What's for dinner? Balkan beef ...

Stan and Karen Khachanov were all smiles at dinner. But no sooner did Krajinovic like this photo, he defeated the Swiss in a three-set nail biter. (Aussie Jordan Thompson dumped the Russian in two easy sets.)

Grigor Dimitrov dismissed Feliciano Lopez in the Battle of the Beauties. Next up: Thompson.

Good to see Bernard Tomic playing well again -- giving fellow "Yugoslavian" Novak Djokovic a scare in their opening match.

Will the crowd ever love Nole enough?

Having grown up watching these two women on the tour, this birthday message from Billie Jean King to Ilana Kloss sure warmed my heart.

Bubbling Under

The Big Three -- or Four -- are fantastic. But how great would it be for men's tennis if one of these guys won the first major of the year?

Borna on ice ...

Russian interference ...

He is Frances, hear him roar!

I was rooting for Stan Wawrinka against Milos Raonic but would still be happy for the Canadian to win it all if it means we get to see more of his box.
