Weekend Tennis Roundup

By now all tennis fans know that Iga Swiatek and Novak Djokovic captured the trophies at Roland Garros over the weekend. I'm just back from my birthday getaway in the Caribbean, but I've uploaded all the tennis photos I saved over the past week --- including a manspread threesome -- BELOW.

POSTCARD FROM ROLAND GARROS

I guess it's NO SECRET how I feel about Novak Djokovic's beating Casper Ruud to capture his third French Open and 23rd major overall. I've believed he's the best I've ever scene and the numbers support that

If it sucked to be Andy Roddick in the heyday of Roger Federer, I can only imagine what it's like to be Ruud -- or anyone -- during the Djokovic/Rafael Nadal era, which of course overlapped with Roger. It's hard to imagine playing the way the Norwegian did in the first set only to come up empty-handed, which of course only made the mountain that much higher to climb.

I gained clarity on my feelings for Iga Swiatek as she overcame a second-set crisis and a third-set deficit to beat Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 to collect her third career championship at the French Open and fourth Grand Slam title.

I'm in awe of her game and have utmost respect for her. But I've come to realize it's in a Justine Henin kind of way -- sans the herpes simplex -- meaning I haven't really warmed up to her a person. (Unlike the Belgian, there's still time.)

Very happy for Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek, who won their maiden major title as a team in style Saturday with a convincing 6-3, 6-1 triumph against Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen

Dutch-American treat

This puts the handsome American on top of the ATP doubles rankings!

Below are some other photos I saved -- usually for obvious reasons!
