Titles for Tommy Paul, Rafael Jodar, Mariano Navone and Jessica Pegula. Full report plus all the ATP beef that's fit to post BELOW.
My funny Valentin
Tommy Paul saved three match points in defeating Roman Andres Burruchaga 6–1, 3–6, 7–5 to capture the US Clay Court Championship in Houston, his first title on the surface and first title since 2024.
Former University of Florida teammates Ben Shelton and Andres Andrade took home the doubles trophy in Houston, rallying to defeat top-seeded Brazilian pair of Orlando Luz and Rafael Matos in the final 4–6, 6–3, [10–6]
A few months after having never played a tour-level main draw and just a week after his first ATP quarterfinal, 19-year-old Spaniard Rafael Jodar stormed to his maiden ATP title in Marrakech, defeating Marco Trungelliti 6-3, 6-2 without dropping serve. Kudos to Trungelliti for becoming the oldest first-time ATP finalist at 36!
Fourth-seeded Americans Robert Cash and JJ Tracy won the doubles title in Marrakech by defeating Vasil Kirkov and Bart Stevens 6–2, 6–3.
A winning pose
Can't get enough of seeing cutie-pie Mariano Navone winning his first ATP Tour singles title -- capturing the Tiriac Open in Bucharest by outlasting Spanish qualifier Daniel Merida 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 in a dramatic final to secure the trophy.
The French pair of Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul won the doubles title in Bucharest, taking out Adam Pavlasek and Patrik Rikl 6–1, 6–4.
Jessica Pegula successfully defended her title in Charleston, defeating unheralded Ukrainian Yuliia Starodubtseva 6-2, 6-2 in the final. This victory makes her the first woman to win back-to-back titles in Charleston since Serena Williams in 2013.
