One of those wacky singles from back in the day that had actually already appeared as an album track on their second release before being released as a single on their third. In truth, the sophomore album wasn't actually released domestically for a reason that seems most ironic now: The executives didn't think it had any hit singles on it! I'm more a "Still the One" man, but have a soft spot for any soft rock hits of the '70s ...

Stephen Colbert Moves Into the Ed Sullivan Theatre

Excited for Stephen Colbert, although it looks weird for David Letterman not to be there anymore. Used to work across the street -- we all ate at Hello Deli every afternoon -- and could never imagine Dave ever going away. Now with him, Jon Stewart, Chelsea Handler and "The Colbert Report" all off the air, my DVR is feeling awfully lonely at night.

CBS Names Stephen Colbert as David Letterman's Successor

I'm thrilled for Stephen Cole-burt -- he's a genius and deserves this huge "Late Show" promotion -- but I will truly miss Stephen Colbert. No one, not even Jon Stewart, was able to skewer the right with such precision and hilarity. File this under ambivalence:

“Simply being a guest on David Letterman’s show has been a highlight of my career,” Mr. Colbert said in a statement. “I never dreamed that I would follow in his footsteps, though everyone in late night follows Dave’s lead.” He added: “I’m thrilled and grateful that CBS chose me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go grind a gap in my front teeth.”

Stephen Colbert: It Gets Worse

   Not everyone loves Stephen Colbert as much as I do. But last night's "The Word" on the upcoming Prop 8 was so brilliant, I can't imagine everyone won't appreciate it. (Seriously, watch it if you haven't already.)

Wired reports that a young Virginia man who wrote an abbreviated version of the Fourth Amendment on his body and stripped to his shorts at an airport security screening area won a trial Friday in his lawsuit seeking $250,000 in damages for being detained on a disorderly conduct charge. In related news, I hear the TSA is getting rid of those full-body scanners that take graphic images of people's bodies, which has Stephen Colbert and me kinda bummed.  Anyone know where I can get a framed 8 x 10 of my nut sack on the way back from Hawaii? They were never more youthful-looking and relaxed ...

Kluwe Does Colbert

 Did you catch Minnesota Vikings punter/LGBT advocate Chris Kluwe on "The Colbert Report" the other night? He committed the cardinal sin of trying to be funny on that show -- and he wore flip-flops in the dead of winter! -- but there was something endearing about his awkward appearance, nonetheless.

Stephen Colbert on the Low T Epidemic

For my money, Stephen Colbert's show is now far more consistently funny than "The Daily Show." (Jon Stewart is still great, but his current batch of correspondents are awful.)  Even one of Colbert's normally weaker segments, "Cheating Death With Dr. Stephen T. Colbert DFA," wound up being funnier on "The Daily Show" last night. In fact, it was probably the funniest thing on TV all week!  Check it out:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Stephen Colbert's interview last night with Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, was about the funniest thing ever shown on television!
