'The Handmaid's Tale' to Get Second Season

Can't say enough about "The Handmaid's Tale," which Damian and I finished watching last night. (I said it before and I'll say it again: It is a documentary about the Republican Party!) Not an awards-show queen, but fully expect it to rightfully sweep the Emmys. That said, now that I know it ends where the book did, I'm even more trepidatious about Hulu's planned second season. Can anyone think of a show or movie based on a book that wound up continuing the story on -- and more importantly, one that didn't suck?

Hulu's borderline hilarious "Real Houswives" send-up is back -- sort of. ET reports that Hulu’s scripted parody of the Bravo franchise returns for a second season on Aug. 18 with Casey Wilson, Angela Kinsey, Dannah Phirman, Andrea Savage and Danielle Schneider all returning as different characters from the ones they played in "The Hotwives of Orlando." This season sees Phe Phe Reed (reprised by Tymberlee Hill) move from Florida to Las Vegas. There she encounters a new set of ladies based on other "Real Housewives" favorites. Among them are the Southern b***h Jenfer Beudon (a very pregnant Wilson), neurotic Denise Funt (Schneider), ex-model Ivanka Silversan (Savage), matriarch Leona Carpeze (Phirman), First Lady Stephanie (Kinsey), and wiccan Callie Silversan (played by season two newcomer, Erinn Hayes).
