Reagan Revolution

Voting against their own interests since 1980.

I wonder how this will go over at his next speaking engagement for a white-supremacy group?

Breeding Contempt

Anyone else watching this new documentary on Hulu about the GOP platform, called "The Handmaid's Tale"?

GOP Family Values Strike Again

More details are emerging in the investigation into married Oklahoma GOP state Senator Ralph Shortey -- who was Donald Trump's campaign manager there -- after the lawmaker was found in a Super 8 motel room with an underage male teen. Read HERE.

CPAC Dumps Milo Yiannopoulos After He Defends Men Having Sex With 13-Year-Old Boys -- UPDATE

I've mostly stayed out of the Milo waters because I don't really know or care who he is, but do understand that his only goal is attention. (Of course, I used to say "Who the f**k cares about a Breitbart editor?" until one was crowned president.) But in the past 72 hours I have figured out that:

A. What the "First-Amendment-loving" white supremacist homocon troll seems to want is a safe space (to be awful to people) away from all those "babies who want safe spaces" (!)

and

B. Conservatives are finally turning on him for making a crack about blowing a priest -- yes, there was more to it than that, but the line was funny and of course we know Republicans are nothing if not humorless -- yet they had no problem with men grabbing women by the vagina, sexualizing little girls, rape allegations and a cabinet full of wife abusers -- and actually celebrated Milo for "gleefully aiming vitriol at liberals, gays, Jews, foreigners, Democrats, plus many others."

Damian thinks this is similar to what it's going to take for Republicans to finally turn on Trump, but with a twist. There's nothing Trump can say that will sour them on him -- no matter how atrocious he is -- but the minute he does something unorthodox policy-wise, however minor, they are going to go ape-shit. (I hope he's right -- it would fun to watch.)

UPDATE:

Not sure why they agreed to publish it in the first place, but this reversal should bolster his "martyr" status even further. [Sigh.]

Note to moronic "free speech" advocates: The First Amendment protects you from being incarcerated for what you say -- it doesn't give you immunity from consequences of things you say.

Trump Voters 'Stunned' to Learn the Horrible Things He Said He'd Do Are Horrible for Them, Too

Read HERE.

My parents raised me right, so I have compassion for people of all walks of life. So it's ironic that having the candidate they think is "no worse" than any politician win is what has enabled me -- at age 49! -- to abandon empathy for nearly half the country. (It would seem like it's a relief, only my concern for the other half has quadrupled.) My brothers, sister-in-law, boyfriend and I have been keeping a HA HA HA File for the various times people were horrified to find out that Donald Trump was going to do something that went precisely against their own interests and desires -- all of which was merely stuff he promised to do yet they voted for him anyway. While people voting against their own interests has been going on since the Republican Party brilliantly brainwashed half the country, there's something particularly satisfying about some of these examples, as this time they were duped by someone who pandered to their racist and xenophobic tendencies but were too stupid to realize where they would get them! Send examples to me HERE.

"I don't understand why the minimum wage here can't be raised. I don't get that," she says, wiping her eyes.

Now THAT'S stupidity -- I mean loyalty! Read HERE.

The GOP's Barren Logic

Conservatives are feigning outrage over "Saturday Night Live" writer Katie Rich's joke about Barron Trump, which is really more of a dig against the new president. But when people pointed out that Chelsea Clinton, Malia and Sasha Obama were constantly the subject of vicious attacks by Republicans -- attacks on their physical appearance, no less -- they responded by saying "two wrongs don't make a right" and "can't we agree that children are off limits?"

YES, we can -- but not before you acknowledge the facts here. These vile examples were only being brought up to point out the never-ending hypocrisy coming from the right, who have no critical-thinking skills whatsoever.

Chelsea Handler on the case ...

Have a look at what the Obama girls have been subjected to and explain to me again how I'm the one living in a "bubble" ...

All the 'Right' Moves

The right can trash Alicia Machado all they want -- she's a public person, after all. But in addition to lacking empathy, the thing that really sets Republicans apart from Democrats is their complete lack of critical-thinking skills. Note to members of the Grand Old Party: When someone makes an accusation that cannot be verified one way or another, THAT'S WHEN scrutinizing their credibility makes sense. But when a person is merely pointing out being mistreated by someone -- which has been captured on film, written about by the abuser in his own book and repeated by the abuser on national television after you called him out on it -- digging up every unsavory thing you can find about them in response just makes you (and your party) look worse than you already do. They really don't get it, do they?

UPDATE:

A week later and he's still up in the middle of the night going nuts about this. Listen to me clearly because this is where we now are: If you aren't voting for Hillary Clinton, then you have a problem with women for which you need to get serious help.
