Prison Break

Fess up if you're the perv who bought "Men of the Mississippi State Prison: Macho White Inmates Swing Gay Behind Bars" in my Amazon store. (I need a review ASAP.)

Song of the Day: 'Fascinated' by Company B

Heard this at the barber shop yesterday --felt like I was at IBT's in Tucson all over again -- and totally forgot it was the greatest song of all time!

Who Ya Gonna Call Me?

Someone just told me I remind them of Walter Peck (Willie Atherton) from "Ghostbusters." Um, OK. I could do a lot worse, but you sure don't hear that every day!

From IMDB:
Trademark

  • Rich smooth voice
  • Often plays manipulative yet well-dressed scoundrels
  • UPDATE: A keen reader writes:
William Atherton claims to have been converted from gay to straight  He was also in "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" but was not as hot as Richard Gere and his jockstrap dance..
Ha! My instincts said gay but then I saw a longtime wife in IMDB.

She Might Just Make It After All

Valerie Harper's terminal brain cancer is 'pretty close to remission,' say doctors

Wow! So this is why she's going to be on "Dancing With the Stars." Still, while her doctors say her cancer is responding to treatment now, it will almost surely come back. Still, for now she's defying the odds.So happy for her and her family -- and her fans. Read HERE.

Two kittens shut down subway service for nearly two hours

Who's a little train delayer? Who's a little train delayer?

    The Daily News reports:
Subway service was suspended on the Q and B lines in Brooklyn Wednesday for nearly two hours while transit workers dealt with a furry situation: two kittens chilling on the tracks. Transit workers spotted the two little felines near Church Ave. on an outdoor stretch of the Q and B lines at 11 a.m., officials said. The workers, and later police, tried to capture the duo but were unsuccessful. The MTA suspended B train service between DeKalb and Brighton Beach, and Q train service between Dekalb and Stillwell, until 12:40 a.m. Service was restored when the kittens scurried away. The authority provided shuttle buses for displaced straphangers between Kings Highway and Stillwell Ave.

    The Hernandez Bunch

    The Gangster in the Huddle

Aaron Hernandez might have been one of the NFL’s all-time greats, but he could never escape drugs, guns and a life of violence

Excellent piece in Rolling Stone about the jaw-dropping rise and fall of Aaron Hernandez. Does a lot to explain why someone who could seemingly have everything would throw it all away (angel dust). Couldn't help but notice that good looks run in the family: that's his older brother DJ above and his sexy dad (No. 15) below. Read HERE.

Song of the Day: 'Big Brown Eyes' by the dB's

I saw the highly influential if underselling dB's (minus Chris Stamey) open for R.E.M. at the Palace West in Phoenix back in '84. Today's song is from the '80s power pop group's classic debut album, "Stands for deciBels." which will be covered by Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs on the duo's upcoming '80s album.
