The handsome 6-2, 200-pound Frenchman was thirty---- ... forty---- ... well, it depends who you ask. Age sounds like it could have been a factor in his decision. His website biography sounds a lot like Bob Bergeron, who met a similar fate:
The way the world goes around comes down to one concept: vanity. A “porn star” only happens to live and expose it in public. It hits each and everyone of us, even the ones who pretend to be humble, or for example even the ones that pretend they only work out for their health. We all want to look good, to be noticed. I loved sex, I loved men, so if I had to be promiscuous, why not be paid for it??! And here I am, almost 10 years, several awards down the line, I am still going strong and loving every minute of it. A very lucky man, I have worked with all the best performers and companies, and i do not see myself as finished just yet. It is only my fourth retirement tour, I have few more to go don’t it? And when it is all over, well, two degrees I completed during my career will prevent me from a painful fall back down to reality. Ha, if only looks did not fade! Welcome to my twisted world!Tragic -- and pathetic. (There's more to life than being good-looking ... or so I've heard.) These gay-porn suicides are starting to add up.
UPDATE: Knight's death comes just weeks after his partner, Jerry Enriquez, also committed suicide. Their doomed binational relationship was apparently also a source of despair.

Very sad to hear, from what I read his partner had also committed sucicide. Would have hope someone reached out to him in support.
And WHY do so many gay men think being a porn star is so glamorous?
His death/suicide seems to have nothing to do with porn but with a broken heart and the result of gays not having the same marriage rights.
His partner of 9 years was so despondent at loosing his job and therefore their visa (they were married in Canada for 2 years) that he committed suicide and left pills and alcohol for him to follow.
They moved to Canada because as gay men from different countries (neither the US) they moved to Canada to stay together.

Im 43 next month and Ive experienced this kind of stress and bullying and yes its hard to put up with. It takes a few years to recover from and if you can't even stay where you are that is added stress.
I'm glad that you removed your inappropriate "pathetic" comment, but you still left a trace of it.
You don't know him, you don't know what drove him to do that, so don't criticize.
We, the gay community, idolize porn and porn stars, while ignoring the impact it has on those guys.
As long as we keep doing that w/o offering help in any valuable way, criticizing them isn't an option.
@Too Afraid to Put My Name: I reworded my post to reflect the new information, but I deliberately left the "pathetic" comment in. It's sad that someone felt desperate enough to kill himself, but it's also selfish and cowardly. And I don't have to know someone to think that -- or to think his beauty-obsessed view of the world is/was pathetic. You may feel differently, but I stand by my thoughts.
Interesting that these guys never snuff themselves at the peak of their fame. They are almost all on roids and in the case of Erik Rhodes a botched circumcsion. House of Vader is a blog by a guy in NYC who designs festish clothing , loves ru pauls drag races to obsession , and takes roids and body builds. He is pretty heartless about the porn industry as many are his customers. If you are ever interested he has some insight and can rant with the best . He is a gay mans gay. Really tall and handsome . Interesting but Im sorry . I know I should feel more . Where does any easy money lead . It is a foundation of marshmallow cream and when the studios stop calling...... I believe the only porn star that could break my heart is Colby Keller his blog is big shoe diaries. I thing he is an intellect and an artist and versatile . I pray for his soul because I don't see him as a piece of meat.
The lack of self-esteem among porn models is what drove most of them into the business in the first place. Is it really any wonder why this happens over and over?
I am sure their relationship was hard to maintain, and I think life would be easier for us all if marriage equality were recognized everywhere. That said, I think it's superficial to decide that the lack of marriage equality in America doomed their LIVES. Writing, as some have, that if they'd only had legal recognition, they'd be alive today, ignores the fact that Jerry committed suicide without a will, a legally obtainable item that would have at least given his partner some kind of consideration should he have decided to go on living. Saying "if only we had full equality" feels good, but it can't mask what was obviously a very complex set of issues these poor guys were dealing with. To suggest otherwise is to suggest that everyone living under similar pressures should look on suicide as a reasonable option.
I read your blog entry about Wilfried Knight. These are the names of porn stars who have died this year by my count: Wilfried Knight, Man Karim, Arpad Miklos, Dror Barak aka Roman Ragazzi, Erik Rhodes, Josh Weston, and Adam Faust.
Five more and I think you have yourself a calendar.

Another victim of the self-imposed tyranny of 'hotness'. If your looks are all you have to give, then this is where you can end up when they fade. The answer isn't endless working out and surgery, it's having a better value system. It's having something more to give.
Came here to read about Wilfried Knight. Very sad, whatever the circumstances, to no longer want to live anymore.

I'm not really sure what you are saying about Dave Mason of House of Vader. He is friends with Francois Sagat and has featured him extensively in his product. That said, again, not clear on your point, but Dave Mason is vapid, vain and cruel. He gives gay men a bad name, and his insight into anything is meaningless.
