Remembering Those Killed on Sept. 11, 2001

With tears and flowers, in clear or trembling voices, relatives of the 9/11 victims marked the fourth anniversary of the attacks in a ceremony today in New York. (from The New York Times)

We certainly have not forgotten our sweet friend David.

Another September 11th : I am thinking of my friend and DC neighbor on Swann Street NW, Washington DC, David Charlesbois, first officer of Flight 77 that hit the Pentagon... I am thinking of the evacuation of the white house that morning, "Just Run!", people packed in cars and on foot running up 16th Street past my corner of Swann St. I am thinking of the sound of fighter jets flying overhead of what is usually a no fly zone over DC ... I am thinking of a city emptying out and those remaining, feeling so alone with our fear... I roamed around a 4 story row-house in such silence except for those fighter jets. No one slept that night anywhere. If you lived on the east coast, and had bits of your life in Washington, or New York, or Boston, you knew several friends that were NOT going to be coming home, you just did not know who they would be.........Frank Muzzy
