Zacking Off

Did you happen to see guest host Ross Mathews interviewing Mark-Paul Gosselaar on "Chelsea Lately" last night? Mr. Saved by the Bell was there with his "Franklin & Bash" costar, Breckin Meyer, and told the already-giddy Ross that he had heard him on Howard Stern recently talking about the two guys who influenced him most as a child -- which, MPG explained, is "another way of saying who you masturbated to." He then proceeded to tell the audience that Ross cited Justin Timberlake and, you guessed it, Zack Morris as his childhood fantasies -- then did a victory fist pump, explaining how he bragged about it later to his wife! (Breckin, looking dejected that it wasn't him, chimed in, "Well I guess I can go f**k myself.) Ross claimed he didn't even remember saying such a thing on the radio -- "We talked about a lot of things ..." -- but then flirtatiously replied: "But I don't deny it." Forget about marriage equality, guys. This is what I call progress!

Intern-al Medicine

Ross "the Intern" Mathews celebrates his 28th birthday looking fab on the cover of Instinct magazine. I'd never heard of him until his adorable stint on "Celebrity Fit Club," but now I'm a full-fledged fan.

In the September issue, which hits stands Aug. 23, Mathews discusses how his pal Rosie O’Donnell encouraged him to take part in the latest season of the VH1 weight-loss program, where he eventually lost over 40 lbs. "She e-mailed me and said, 'Go learn how to take care of your body. I’m 44 and I still don’t know how,'" Ross explained. "People ask me a lot, 'Was it scary to let the nation know how much you weighed?' I had been fat my entire life, and I have soft spot for people in that situation. It’s no secret when you’re a big person, so no, I had no issue getting on that scale."

As for his personal life, Mathews admits that meeting that "special someone" has been elusive so far. "I’ve been so focused on work and making it up as I go that I feel I’ve lost the ability to interact personally," he said. "It would be nice to be swept off my feet. I want to cut through all the rest: the ones that don’t work out."

With his fit new bod and great personality, I'm guessing Mr. Right may be around the corner for this funnyman. (Instinct) Check out his blog here.
