Jerry Falwell Jr. Has a Type

Less than four months since we learned Jerry Falwell Jr. endorsed Donald Trump after Michael Cohen “took care” of racy pics that may or may not have involved a sexy pool boy (Giancarlo Granda) the church fart loaned nearly $2 million comes news of another "special" friend.

Turns out Falwell got Liberty University to give his hot personal trainer another two mil to buy a gym. (Apparently that’s the going rate for these muscle boys.) Falwell also appears to have given young Benjamin Crosswhite a cream pie for dessert ...

Nice that they even got a photo of him checking out his handiwork ...

Even more of his latest find HERE.

Mug Shot Monday

It's always the youth ministers at anti-gay churches being accused of SEXUALLY EXPLOITING teenage boys.

Mug Shot Monday

I'd f**k him just for having the balls to show Arkansas what it can do with its Ten Commandments monument.

The Creeper 'Keepers'

Just finished "The Keepers." If you're looking to have any faith you have in humanity completely erased then I highly recommend watching.

Horrors aside I will say this: The survivors' ability to persevere is truly inspiring. And if you've never endured a Baltimore accent, this one's a keeper!

First Things First

The Trump administration readily admits there is a draft of a "religious freedom" executive order that paves the way for legalizing discrimination against the LGBT community. But they insist there are no plans to sign it at this time -- as Donald clearly has more important things to discuss with Jesus.

Song of the Day: 'Go Tell It on the Mountain' by Henrietta and Merna

Ironic that the same people who accuse gays of "recruiting" spend their lives trying to convert people to their beliefs. (They come to us, BTW.)

And who wouldn't be sold by this heartfelt demonstration?

Parenthood as a Religion

Love this bit from a Quartz story my brother sent me, which is part of the reason why conservatives' obsession with "all life" bothers me so much:
The origins of the parenthood religion are obscure, but one of its first manifestations may have been the “baby on board” placards that became popular in the mid-1980s. Nobody would have placed such a sign on a car if it were not already understood by society that the life of a human achieves its peak value at birth and declines thereafter. A toddler is almost as precious as a baby, but a teenager less so, and by the time that baby turns fifty, it seems that nobody cares much anymore if someone crashes into her car. You don’t see a lot of vehicles with placards that read, “Middle-aged accountant on board.”

I hope there actually is a hell so these two can rot in it.

U.S. Supreme Court Tells Kentucky Clerk to Shut Up and Do Her Job

The Supreme Court repeats what we've been telling this dolt for months: Religious beliefs do not allow you to "opt out" of duties as a public official. Now isn't there a Hardee's this four-times-married broad can get an application at or something?

Apples and Oranges Apples?

A reader who wishes to remain anonymous writes:
I'm waiting for somebody else to notice how similar the Muslim argument against free speech is to the Christian argument against marriage equality.
Yep.

Honest to God

With the pope retiring, wouldn't it be a good time for the Catholic church to cut its losses and call it a day?

Answered Prayer

I'm glad having anti-gay church farts (is that redundant?) at Barack Obama's big moment isn't going to become a tradition, after all.

Jesus Wants Me to Touch You ... Down There

(EDITOR'S NOTE: This post was written by guest blogger Marc Lallanilla.)

In the time-honored tradition of Christian-ish sexual hijinks, Tony Alamo "Christian" Ministries in Fouke, Ark., have come under investigation for running a child pornography ring.

But he looks so normal ...

The group is described as "a cult that opposes homosexuality, Catholicism and the government." Not sure what those three things have in common ... control issues, maybe? I dunno.

And Tony himself is quoted as saying that for girls having sex, "consent is puberty." Yup, that sounds like something Jesus would say.

Does anyone understand why religious types are so obsessed with sexuality, either their own or that of others? Religion could address more spiritual concerns like man's role in the universe, or the nature of life and death and the human soul. But no ... modern religion is instead concerned with one dumb thing: rules for fucking.

I'll leave you with a quote from Judith "Miss Manners" Martin: "The basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the love lives of strangers and those who do not."

Amen.

Double Feature

After a whirlwind week with my friend Nina from Chicago, last night we decided to stay in after dinner and watch a movie. Nina had been dying for me to see the infamous 1970s documentary "Grey Gardens," which chronicles the lives of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis' aunt and cousin -- Edith Bouvier Beale and her daughter, Edie -- who gained notoriety when the National Enquirer and the Suffolk County Health Department revealed that the two onetime debutantes lived in squalor and almost total isolation for more than 20 years in the mother's decrepit East Hampton mansion, Grey Gardens. If you haven't seen this, you must! It is everything reality television aspires to be and then some. The two women are delightfully out of touch with reality -- 79-year-old Mom still thinks she's an aspiring singer and 58-year-old daughter a flirtatious ingenue dancer. The things they say to each other make Judi Dench's character in "Notes On a Scandal" seem like Doris Day -- and their bizarre day-to-day routines -- like cooking corn on the cob in bed and feeding Wonder Bread to the raccoons who live in the attic -- have to be seen to be truly believed. While it may sound highly exploitational, the two Edies seem to relish their time in front of the camera and a chance to tell their side of the story, and at the end of the DVD the directors included the audio of a phone call between Little Edie and Albert Maysles (one of the film's producers and cinematographers) and the love and affection between them remained strong into the new millennium (Little Edie died in 2002).
Apparently a two-disc DVD was released last year that includes a whole separate film -- "The Beales of Grey Gardens" -- using the unused footage. I'm eager to see more ... I'm still completely in awe.

When we went to rent "Grey Gardens" we found out it was two-for-one night at my video store, so I reluctantly turned around to see if there was anything else near the checkout line that might be worth grabbing for "free." Out jumped "Jesus Camp," and we actually got around to watching that one, too. I mistakenly thought it was about a camp to turn gay kids straight, but it's actually almost scarier than even that. It chronicles this awkward, closeted lesbian with bad highlights, Becky Fisher, as she trains young soldiers in "God's Army" at a cult summer camp for evangelical Christian children in North Dakota. What happens next is beyond belief -- but let it suffice to say that Ted Haggard was involved and that Nina and I sat there in shock for 90 minutes. I'm petrified to go to sleep tonight because nightmares are assured. If this is what the future of America looks like, God help us all.
