I've never seen people who like free food more than Americans, so sink your teeth into this, guys!

A new show by Spike TV called “Frankenfood” is hosting free food truck tastings in New York all of this week. The show combines unlikely foods in an attempt, that doesn’t always work, to create awesome new ideas. One example of a spaghetti filled burger was very well received by attendees. The New York Times has a fascinating article about the history of Mexican-American fast food, which has its roots in California's Inland Empire. With the help of Gustavo Arellano, author of "Taco USA," we learn how a few Mexican foods -- salsa, tacos, chili, tequila -- managed to slip into the American mainstream, and why Taco Bell is so enormously popular today.
