Cher, Madonna, Stevie Nicks and Others Contribute to Stonewall Fundraising Event
Celebrating the recent designation of the historic Stonewall National Monument in Greenwich Village, an online fundraising campaign centering on a celebrity auction commenced Oct. 25 and will run for two weeks. Cher, Madonna, Stevie Nicks, Neil Patrick Harris, Andy Cohen, George Clooney and Taylor Swift are among the many stars who have donated items to the auction, which will raise funds to help maintain the Stonewall National Monument—the new unit of the National Park System that encompasses Christopher Park ( the oval public space bordered by Christopher Street, Grove Street and West 4th Street and situated directly across from the Stonewall Inn), the Stonewall Inn itself, and the surrounding streets and sidewalks that were the sight of the momentous 1969 Stonewall Uprising.

Tom Brady's Used Underwear Up for Auction
I was pretty excited when I read they were auctioning off a pair of Tom Brady's used underwear and T-shirt that he wore in the film "Ted 2" until I found out they'd been washed. (Current bid: $2,500.) That they weren't even tighty-whities -- like he sported on "Saturday Night Live" -- only added to my disappointment, although I must confess I did rebound a bit when I saw he wore size 36 boxers. (Woof!)
Bid HERE.

The Luckiest People in the World
(Video looks dead but it works)
A little schmaltzy, but it happened in my college's city, so why not?
Big Daws is better known for his Youtube prank videos, like eating junking food at a gym and pretending to know strangers. But this time he decided to do something different. He lives in Tempe, Arizona, and found an interesting way to bring awareness to the homeless population. According to the Arizona Department of Economic Security, in 2012 there were 22,350 adults and 5,805 children registered as homeless. That was a 12 percent increase over the previous year. The Arizona Commission on Homelessness and Housing (ACHH) was established by Governor Janice Brewer and is a formal state plan designed to end veteran homelessness by 2015 and chronic homelessness by 2016.

Picture This
Photographer Mark Weise's story about snapping this photo of Chris Stein and Debbie Harry as their were exiting Palladium in 1978 is almost as much fun as artist's David Banegas larger-than-life interpretation. The painting is up for auction now, with proceeds benefiting John Varvatos' Stuart House, the internationally recognized model program of the Rape Treatment Center at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center serving the special needs of sexually abused children. Read all about the photograph, the painting and the auction HERE.
