Song of the Day: 'He's Gone' by Toni Tennille and Dionne Warwick

 

I spent 45 minutes mesmerized yesterday listening to Harvey Brownstone queen out exactly like I would interviewing the lovely and talented Toni Tennille -- video down below -- and in addition to smiling from ear to ear the entire time, I learned about this wonderful duet she did with Dionne Warwick of the classic Hall and Oates song "She's Gone," heteronormatively renamed "He's Gone." Enjoy every second of it. 

P.S. I'm THIS CLOSE to dragging my family when I'm home for Thanksgiving an hour and 45 minutes each way to the Yavapai College Performing Arts Center to see the former Mrs. Dragon give her farewell stage performance in "Hello, Dolly!"! (Shocker: It would be my first time seeing the musical.)

I don’t think I’ve watched TV by flipping the channel since the advent of the DVR. But might need to rethink this strategy after stumbling on an episode of “The Love Boat” featuring Nellie Oleson, Miss Jane Hathaway, Father John Mulcahy, Ann Marie’s agent and Toni Tennille!

Well, talk about a page-turner. In her tell-all memoir, Toni Tennille reveals that she and the Captain once tried the "grapefruit diet" in the '70s; one of her fingers is a tad wonky (it was "almost" amputated, but wasn't); the Captain has big eyes so wears sunglasses to hide them; and she still has a stuffed muskrat a fan gave her to celebrate the duo's hit "Muskrat" Love." Sure hope I can get this one overnighted! All kidding aside, I love Toni and hope this book is half as fabulous as she is.
