Golden 'Nuggets'

 The Wild Honey Foundation put on a hell of an autism benefit last week in Glendale, Calif., featuring seminal garage rockers from the Seeds, Love and the Chocolate Watchband. Lenny Kaye served as emcee, resident historian, cheerleader and intermittent singer-guitarist for this semi-reconstruction of the 1972 compilation album “Nuggets."

Susanna Hoffs performed "I Want Candy" by the Strangeloves and teamed up with Weird Al and Owen Elliot (Mama Cass's daughter) for "Sit Down, I Think I Love You" by the Mojo Men.

With everything as wonderful as it was, I'm baffled as to why someone felt the need to aggressively filter this cute photo of the Bangles singer/guitarist with fellow musicians Carnie Wilson and Kathy Valentine. See the original BELOW.

Carnie Wilson Hits an All-Time Low

I know some people think I "hate fatties," but it's really not true. My sense of humor can be cruel at times, but deep down I know that weight issues are no laughing matter. This is why I'm so shocked to read that Carnie Wilson -- aka two-thirds of Wilson Phillips -- has been allowed by the medical community to have weight-loss surgery again, despite already having undergone gastric bypass at 300 pounds, losing 150, and then gaining most of it back. If she isn't living proof that weight issues are completely between your ears -- not between two pieces of fried bread -- then I don't know who is. Whoever her doctor is should be investigated for malpractice because this is insane.

 It's rare that modern day Christmas songs resonate, but this one by two-thirds of Wilson Phillips -- a pre-gastric-bypass Carnie and an always-thin Wendy Wilson -- sure did with me. A real holiday treat!
