'Band Fags' Play Extended in Detroit

Hey, Detroit readers:

My friend Frank Anthony Polito's play "BFs!" -- based on his novel "Band Fags!," which was based on his play "John R" (no exclamation point) -- has been extended for another weekend of performances at the Slipstream Theatre Initiative.

Hey, all you Kenneth in the (212) fans!

So it seems our boy is off in sunny LA for some much needed R & R... Can you believe he actually left me, Frank Anthony Polito, author of the soon-to-be published coming-of-age/coming-out novel, BAND FAGS! (Kensington Books, June 2008--how's that for self-promotion?!) in charge of the ship? "Ask and ye shall receive," I always say... Now how about that million dollars?

Admittedly, I've never blogged before... Hopefully I'll find a way to come up with some exciting and entertaining "news" items to keep you informed (and salivating) in KW's absence. Please be kind...

Even if I hadn't become friends with the author Frank Anthony Polito as he was writing his '80s gay coming of age tale set in the neighboring suburb of Detroit I grew up in, I still would have raced out to buy a copy.
