Here's a previously unreleased Herb Ritts photo of Madonna from 1993. The pose says it all -- this was taken during the time her career nearly imploded. (If only -- we might have been spared "American Life" and "Hard Candy" and most definitely "Swept Away"!) (H/T to Alan)
Eh, speak for yourself RE: American Life (the album, not the single). One of her best albums, IMO -- right after Erotica. That said, I'll agree with you about Swept Away :)
We also would have missed out on Ray Of Light and Confessions On The Danfloor, not to mention the Re-Invention and Confessions Tour ... So, I clearly beg to differ.

You're totally right, everything after music is horrible, the worst of course Hard Candy. Like you said, if only...
