Wright on Target: The Mets sure made the Yankees look like fools in two out of three games this series. And (212) fave David Wright led the charge. (NYP)
Passion Play: Kudos to "Passions" for bringing some hard-core gay sex to American housewives' stories. The guy who plays Chad is smokin' hot. But shouldn't a Debbie Allen lookalike be left out of any made-for-TV man-on-man loving? (Video)
Blond Regrets: Kudos to Heather Johnston, the so-called Barbie Bandit, for realizing things she and fellow bank robber Ashley Miller did were wrong: first off, they went to the wrong Bank of America. She also talked about the stylish sunglasses she and Miller wore during the heist, which was meant to look like a robbery. "We had got them a couple weeks before this even came up. Like, we called them our stunner shades," she said. Johnston said immediately after the robbery they headed "straight to the mall" to visit an upscale hair salon to get highlights in their hair. Everyone knows a blonde on the run needs to get lowlights in a situation like this. "Some of the stuff we did was pretty ignorant," she conceded. (AP)

French Connection? I know it sounds silly to root for one of the most dominant figures in sports of all time, but let's face it, on clay Roger Federeris an underdog. Going into yesterday's final at the German Open, he'd hadn't won a clay-court event in two years and had lost five straight matches on clay to Rafael Nadal. So when Federer ended Nadal's 81-match clay-court winning streak yesterday in Hamburg, 2-6, 6-2, 6-0, it was quite a surprise. The score of the final set really stunned me (Nadal said afterward, "He's unbelievable.") With Federer's first title on clay in two years, this year's French Open has all the making of a classic. I was amazed to see Roger bageled Nadal in the final set! I can't decide what this augurs for the French Open--does Roger finally have the confidence to win, or will Nadal be extra fired-up to get revenge? I guess both possibilties are equally likely.
It drives me nuts that I couldn't see any of the match on TV!

Augh! I totally blew off following the match because I thought it was a no-brainer. I would have loved to have seen that.
Nadal just hiccuped, I think. At this point, he'll have less trouble stringing together seven wins than Roger.
But still -- good job, Roger. His draw at Hamburg was much tougher than Nadal's.
im not a big fan of baseball...but i could become a mets fan pretty darn quick!
