About a (Straight) Boy

The Advocate catches up with the actor Derek Magyar, who stars as a sex pro who can't help falling in love in the new gay flick "Boy Culture." As disappointing as it is that there's A. yet another cute boy on the cover who turns out to be straight; and B. yet another straight boy playing gay in a gay movie, the film does have a lot going for it since it is directed by Q. Allan Brocka, the man behind the "Eating Out" films, and is based on the acclaimed 1995 novel Matthew Rettenmund. I see it's coming to the Quad soon, and with descriptions like "A successful male escort describes in a series of confessions his tangled romantic relationships with his two roommates and an older, enigmatic male client" and a tagline that reads: "Sex pays, love costs," I will go ahead and admit it, I'm intrigued.Posted by Kenneth M. I would never be a Republican for all the reasons I never have been. They’re too religious, they’re fiscal hypocrites who absolutely hate it when American spends money it doesn’t have except when they’re in office and then it’s always completely OK, they’re in denial about racism (which, yes, is still a thing), they think climate change is a hoax and the weather girl’s tits are real and they’re always blaming the underprivileged when they should be blaming the overprivileged.
