Was gay icon Brady Quinn and his "crew" involved in a New Year's Eve anti-gay confrontation? It sure sounds like it. I never actually thought Quinn was gay -- until now:

From the Cleveland Plain Dealer: Cleveland Browns quarterback Brady Quinn was part of a group of men shouting insults at gay passers-by outside a Columbus bar early on New Year's Day, according to a 911 call made to police.

The call at 2:35 a.m. came from Seth Harris, who reported that he encountered the group in front of La Fogata Grill at 790 N. High St. The Mexican restaurant is next door to the Union Café Bar + Food, one of Columbus' most popular gay bars in the gay-friendly Short North neighborhood.

On the 911 call, Harris said that "Brady Quinn from the Browns" was "trying to cause a fight." Harris told the operator, "I just walked outside and he exchanged many profanities with me and called me a faggot, of course."

Brady Quinn: Picture Perfect?

Brady Quinn nearly lived up to the enormous hype that surrounds him in his pro debut on Saturday night. With flashbulbs popping all around the stadium, Quinn threw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes in his first NFL exhibition game and looked better than any Cleveland quarterback in the Browns' 23-20 loss to the visiting Detroit Lions. Let's hope Browns coach Romeo Crennel gives Brady more chances this season, a situation that is unlikely given that there are already two other men vying for Cleveland's starting quarterback position, Charlie Frye and Derek Anderson, both of whom were booed by Browns fans at Saturday's game.

I don't know about you, but ever since Brady Quinn went from being a big fish in a collegiate pond to a small fish in the NFL pond, I haven't been seeing enough of his handsome mug (oh, or his hot bod).

Lucky for us the hunky Cleveland Browns backup quarterback is putting his telegenic looks to good use as the spokesman for a new Gillette promotion with Facebook. In the campaign, Brady shows us how he puts his "game face" on -- using Gillette products on his baby face, of course -- and invites his fans to submit photos or videos showing how they get their "game face" on, too. Four lucky winners will get to spend some face-to-face time with the dreamy QB in New York (Chelsea, perhaps?).

Brady Quinn, the former star Notre Dame quarterback, has been traded by the Cleveland Browns to the Denver Broncos. The gay heartthrob was a first-round draft pick in 2007, but has struggled with consistency and injuries playing for his hometown team. Now that they've dumped him, the thing he will be best remembered for in Cleveland is getting his ass kicked by Sean Smith in the locker room. Will Denver be a good change for him? Only time will tell. (Full disclosure: This post was just an excuse to post some Brady Quinn photos, which I have not done in quite some time.)

Brady Quinn heats up the August issue of Men's Health. The draft-day scouting report on Quinn was that he was "solid but not special." If this is what not special looks like, I'm afraid to see what else the N.F.L. has up the pike. With a body as fit as Brady's, is it any wonder that he's already got a slew of endorsements and he hasn't even played his first pro game?
