When Rodolfo Met Mimi

What a thrill to experience "La bohème" at the Metropolitan Opera, something I've dreamed of since seeing Loretta reduced to tears after agreeing to go with Ronny in "Moonstruck" nearly 40 years ago. A friend says the "Zeffirelli production is just unbelievable. I hope they never replace it" -- and I'm in no position to disagree.

Next up: "Aida" on New Year's Eve!

Afterward, the cast stayed for a discussion about the show and Franco Zeffirelli’s glorious sets.

One of my favorites. Act One when Rodolfo sings his aria...my heart breaks!

I’ve seen it three times and have introduced so many people to the Met with that production. When I called to order tickets for Dialogues of the Carmelites last year, I asked about it. I was told that there would be riots if they retired this production.

Thank you, Zeffirelli. This is glorious production!!
