Just a quick post to say hi from across the globe! So after a charming day or two in Osaka, with a side trip to the spectacular Himeji Castle, my husband put me on a prop plane to Yakushima Island, where he’d booked a fantastic room facing the ocean. That was just perfect until he bamboozled me into a six-hour hike through the national park, where my fear of heights was put to test as we made our way to Taikoiwa Rock.
Got to see hundreds of trees even older than me!
How do you say grueling in Japanese?
I should have known something was up when he bought me hiking sneakers!
Lucky for me, this was my reward waiting back at the hotel, where my rest and recovery will commence until his next stunt!
