I wouldn't say Chance's mom is #teamellen. She prob just doesn't want to get sued. The kid was 11 years old when Ellen thought she saw money in him. How cruel she tossed him aside like that. But that's show business.
Guess what? Very few people "make it" in show business. She gave him all she could & it didn't work out. He got more support & things than many of us ever got. It's random chance, period.
Ellen DeGeneres was hella busy with all the things, and she's not his mother.
