Mug Shot Monday

At least Jussie Smollett is still cute -- although I'm more interested in his hunky "attackers." Let's give those muscle men a reality show.

New York Post reports:

Chicago’s top cop promised Monday that there’s “a lot more evidence that hasn’t been presented yet” in Jussie Smollett‘s case that proves he staged his hate attack.

The investigation into the “Empire” star -- who is charged with a felony for allegedly filing a false police report -- is ongoing, Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson told “Good Morning America” host Robin Roberts.

“Let me tell, you, Robin, there’s a lot more evidence that hasn’t been presented yet, that does not support the version he gave,” Johnson said. “There’s still a lot of physical evidence, video evidence and testimony that just simply doesn’t support his version of what happened.”

Johnson also fired back against recent reports that the $3,500 check at the center of the case was really a payment from Smollett to bodybuilding brothers Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo for training sessions.

“They [the brothers] said that he paid them $3,500 with a check … to carry out this incident,” Johnson insisted.

The police chief -- who delivered an impassioned statement the day after Smollett was charged with disorderly conduct -- said the city was scarred after the actor’s alleged fabrication. But he also reminded viewers that Smollett “still has the presumption of innocence until he has his day in court.”

“I just want people to understand, that’s a damaging thing to do to a city and to a police department,” Johnson said. “It’s important for people to recognize that it’s not the Chicago Police Department saying he did something, it’s the evidence, the facts and the witnesses that are saying this,” he added.
