Milk on the Side

The pop-up Cat Café in the Bowery is a place for New Yorkers to have a cup of coffee and possibly find a cat they want to adopt. But if Larry refuses to let me sleep one more night, I may bring him there in my laptop bag and discreetly add him to the inventory!

My 19 year old cat Rocky has, within the last few months, decided that yelping at the top of his lungs is the best way to get my attention for whatever it is his little heart desires. The racket usually starts about 6:00 in the morning, probably has something to do with food, but continues randomly throughout the day. Because I do not speak "cat" I can only guess that he may be communicating empty food bowl, hate the food you have put in said bowl, dirty litter box, hate the new litter put in said box, the back door is closed, the back door is open, need attention, hate attention...the list goes on and on. If I didn't love him so dearly, he, too, would be on the menu at the Cat Cafe. Point is: I feel your pain. Congratulations on the success of your new book.
