Song of the Day: 'I've Got Your Number, Son' by She & Him

I have such a chip on my shoulder about Zooey Deschanel that I didn't even realize it was her when I caught this performance midway into it. My friend says it's too "twee" for him -- and that he doesn't more of her in his life. But since I have none of her in my life -- the one thing I ever saw her in was nearly ruined by her cutesiness -- I'm actually kind of pleasantly surprised by her June Carter ways. (My brother notes that "Lingering Still" is even more Mrs. Cash.)

Wait until you hear Sunday Girl - she sounds surprising like Debbie. (Please don't hate me for saying that.)

"Home" is the track I always come back to. But the whole "Volume 2" album is great.

I recall seeing on another site a bit back that she will have the Sissy Spacek role in "Coalminer's Daughter" on Broadway.

"New Girl," since it stopped being all about her and became an ensemble show, is really quite funny. And with cute guys too. It's worth a look.
