Hard to believe the girl who made me fall in love with tennis back in 1977 is 50 years old today. No footage from that fateful run to the quarterfinals at Forest Hills has surfaced on YouTube yet -- who could forget the pinafore dress? -- but highlights of Tracy's third-round encounter versus top-seed Chris Evert at Wimbledon earlier that summer have, and they were clearly edited by someone like me: They're all the points the 14-year-old won in that 6-1, 6-1 defeat!
