Cynthia Nixon: That Kenneth Walsh Was Right All Along (UPDATE)

OK, maybe she didn't quite say that. But I did tell her so -- and I'm happy to see Cynthia Nixon now admits that I was right -- she's not choosing "to be" gay, she's bi and choosing to exercise her gay option -- even if she has to be all Miranda-y about it.

In a statement, she said:

"My recent comments in The New York Times were about me and my personal story of being gay. I believe we all have different ways we came to the gay community and we can't and shouldn't be pigeon-holed into one cultural narrative which can be uninclusive and disempowering. However, to the extent that anyone wishes to interpret my words in a strictly legal context I would like to clarify:

"While I don't often use the word, the technically precise term for my orientation is bisexual. I believe bisexuality is not a choice, it is a fact. What I have 'chosen' is to be in a gay relationship."

UPDATE: For those who don't appreciate my childish antics, John Aravosis explains why we couldn't just "let this go" -- even from an LGBT ally like Nixon -- HERE.

Longtime reader of your blog…..

Orginally calling Cynthia Nixon a moron in the orginal headline and then changing it later. It really turned me off. Not cool.

Grow up!

Sorry, but you'd have to be pretty stupid (moronic?) to say what she said and let it fester for a week before admitting you don't know what you're talking about. I changed the headline because I thought of a better one -- something I do routinely. (See blog description on right of home page!)

Enjoying your sparring with Justin Bond. He/she really needs to get over him/herself.

Kenneth. Love ya dearly but agree with the first guy. Out of line and you just need to move on.

Focus on the other bullshit things you cover on your blog. Awesome!

Guys (I assume, since you won't bother to identify yourselves):

Setting the gay rights movement back 40 years by saying sexuality is a choice is not cool and I have every right to be angry about it. Clearly she sees the error of her ways -- let me have my fun!

I got your back too K, she has set us back, likely for personal gain.. But again judging by her taste in 'woman' all about her is quite suspect, right?
