Teddy Who?

I've always had a thing for Jason Priestly -- and not just because he was a Walsh living in Beverly Hills. And based on these photos from the Monte Carlo TV Festival in Monaco -- where Brandon was promoting his new series, "Call Me Fitz" -- I still do.

I used to like Jason until I found out that he is a rightwing republican and a member of the Wednesday Morning Club

Uh Bucky...
Welcome to America where people are allowed to hold differing opinions and beliefs and support causes they feel are important to the the world they want to live in in the twenty first century. Demonizing him for his beliefs is no different than him doing that to whatever it is that you choose to hold dear.

I've heard that Jason is hung like a horse. But, I am also turned off by his being a right wing Repug.

Yes, people are certainly allowed to hold different beliefs and we are allowed to disapprove of them or to disagree with them. I can't admire someone like Priestly who endorses the bigoted policies of the right. Disagreement is not demonization. Though I have no problem condemning the prejudices and willful ignorance characteristic of the right.

While it's true that people are allowed to hold differing opinions, so is it true that we are allowed to disagree with them. To disagree is not to demonize. I disagree with the bigoted and willfully ignorant policies of the political right in this country. I cannot admire Priestly for endorsing them. His beliefs are wrong, I don't mind saying so.

@Bucky: Thanks for the info. For someone like Priestly who has had tons of gay fans and co-workers, it's stunning that he subscribes to right-wing politics that are so biased against gays.

As for "demonizing," if the shoe fits, kick yourself with it.

Did Jason Priestly become an american citizen? Last time I checked he was Canadian and we dont have a Republician party.

canada should learn to do a simple google search said...

He's been a naturalized U.S. citizen since 2007.

He's also been a public celebrity figure for far longer. Even if he was a Canadian citizen, his Republican beliefs could still cause harm to American LGBT citizens by way of him using whatever little celebrity he has to publicize various U.S. Republican political candidates.
