Fight Club

Watch Sean Faris and Cam Gigandet hit the gym hard to prepare to play mixed martial arts fighters in the upcoming film "Never Back Down." After seeing this behind-the-scenes workout footage I'm starting to favor Blondie (is Sean mildly retarded?) . What do you think?

10th Annual amFAR New York Gala

While I'm a bit disappointed that my invitation never made it to my apartment (clearly it was lost in the mail), I'm not going to let that stop me from sharing these wonderful photos from last night's amFAR New York Gala, at which Julian Schnabel, Carine Roitfeld and Bobby Shriver were honored. The star-studded event took place at the glamorous Cipriani on 42nd Street, but the organizers need not worry: I ate Chinese with Mikey at Grand Sichuan on 9th Avenue and had this week's "Reno 911!" to watch on my DVR.

New York's first couple: Edward Burns and Christy TurlingtonHonoree Julian "Have another cocktail, darling" Schnabel and Natasha Richardson
Kenneth Cole and Barry Manilow; Anna Wintour and Marc Jacobs
Super-gorgeous (and pregnant?) Christy Turlington
Billie Jean King Lou Reed and Harry Belafonte
Alicia Witt (loved her on "Cybil"!) and Zuleika Robinson; Honoree Bobby Shriver
Ed Burns, Christy Turlington and Julian Schnabel

  • South American Way: David Beckham takes Brazil. (MadeInBrazil)

  • Here We Go Again: A federal grand jury has issued a subpoena to a reporter of The New York Times, apparently to try to force him to reveal his confidential sources for a 2006 book on the Central Intelligence Agency, one of the reporter’s lawyers said Thursday. (NYT)

  • Coveted: GayWired Media has endorsed Hillary Clinton and Ron Paul for president. I just have one question: Who is GayWired Media? (Source)

  • Upstairs, Downstairs: A Conservative Party member of Britain's House of Commons has been censured, banned from the House for ten days and ordered to repay taxpayer money he used for salaries for one of his sons and the boyfriend of another. (365Gay)

  • ACLU Fights Back: To stop gay activities in a high school named for youth-obsessed Ponce de Leon just seems sacrilegious to me. (365Gay)

  • Why Does God Hate Amputees? I don't know if the fact that Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett is walking again just five months after being "paralyzed" during a football game is so much a "miracle" as a bad diagnosis. But you don't argue with Oprah. (Tribune)

'Can You Lend a Nigga a Pencil?'

This one comes from Mona Seimond and Alisa. Listening to this honors English teacher in Kentucky explain the difference between "ni**er" and "nigga" ranks right up there with Mitt Romney's rendition of "Who Let the Dogs Out?"

(NOTE: this is an e-mail I received last night from my friend Steve)

    From: Saint J
    To: Kenneth Walsh
Subject: my cat officially joins the lgbT family.

after tomorrow, i'm going to have a transsexual cat.

poor Loki developed a urinary blockage that's quite common in male cats. luckily, we got him to the vet in time. another 24 hours. and he probably would've had a heart attack & died.

the vet cleared the blockage and told us that if it recurred two more times, she'd recommend surgery to make sure it wouldn't happen again. before we could get him back home, it happened again. so Loki's having the surgery, during which his genitals will be removed (he was already neutered) and an artificial opening will be created for urination.

    trannie cat.

and before you even start, spare me the "p---y" jokes. too easy. easier than me at the eagle on a saturday night. ba-dump-bump.

seriously, i am kinda worried, but everyone says it's a pretty routine procedure and he should be fine.

oh yeah, and my dad's in hospital as well.

    loving 2008, so far!
