Stars in Their Skivvies (UPDATED!)

Inspired by UsWeekly, I enhanced their celebs in underwear photo essay with a bunch pics from my own archives. (Have one you think belongs here? Send it my way!)

JESSE BRADFORD

(I'm guessing this is some sort of Euro bathing suit, but close enough for me!)

Page 1 Consider (12/03)

  • Tenderloins: The Times examines the burgeoning gay scene in Buenos Aires, you know, "home to the sexy tango and strapping meat-eaters." (NYT)

  • Don't Ask (Again): The president of CNN said that the cable channel would redouble its efforts to vet the campaign affiliations of questioners at open-forum debates, after a retired brigadier general was permitted Wednesday to ask the Republican presidential candidates about gay men and lesbians in the military without CNN’s knowing that he was listed on an advisory committee of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign. (NYT) CNN "addressed" the issue in true passive-aggressive fashion by removing the whole thing from repeats of the debate with nary a mention of its ever happening. (MediaMatters)

  • American Classics: Diana Ross and Brian Wilson, Steve Martin, Martin Scorsese and the pianist Leon Fleisher were honored for their contributions to American culture at the Kennedy Center Honors last night in Washington. The event will air Dec. 26 on CBS. (AP) (BTW: the Times' review of Steve Martin's new memoir, "Born Standing Up," is a must read for fans of the funnyman. (NYT)

  • Stop AIDS, and Stupidity: Police took 40 people into custody on World AIDS Day when they sat down on the sidewalk in front of the White House and refused to move. The protesters say the Bush administration is not doing enough about the spread of AIDS, although in W.'s defense I have to say spending $28 million a year on abstinence-only sex education programs must be helping. (365Gay)

  • Narrow Defeat: I really thought the Venezuelan people were going to be hoodwinked into giving their popular leader, Hugo Chavez, carte blanche for the rest of his life. But it looks like I was wrong. The world should all breathe a collective sigh of relief. (NYT)

  • Average Joes: Because everyone is so tired of looking at beautiful people, go behind the scenes of Ugly New York, an agency that specializes in so-called real-life models. "No autographs please! You think beautiful girls are gonna stay in style forever?" (NYT)

  • Bittersweet: Sex toy Brody Jenner told People magazine over the weekend that not only are he and Lauren "LC" Conrad not dating -- there's never been anything romantic between them. As shocked and dismayed as I am to hear that everything on "The Hills" isn't real, it is nice to know that I still have a shot with BJ. (People)

  • Progressive: Brazil's government has announced plans to put condom-dispensing machines in public schools to help teenagers reduce the spread of AIDS. I guess this is necessary with all of those sexy boys parading around in Speedos. (CP)

  • Born in the USA: Congratulations to the U.S. Davis Cup team for defeating Russia over the weekend in Portland. It was the United States' first victory since 1995. (AP)

  • Northern Exposure: An ugly internal dispute over sex, religion and violence erupted within the Alberta Conservative party, ending up with a candidate being ousted and Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach saying the reasons for the "difficult'' decision must remain confidential. (Suddenly I have an interest in Canadian politics.) (CP)

  • Cyndi Lauper Sighting: Madonna's hubby Guy Ritchie is hoping a re-cut version of his latest bomb, "Revolver," will help him re-establish his directing career. I just wanna rassel with the Brit hunk. (NYT)

  • Sticking to Their Guns: Mrs. Butterworth is back and she means business. (AP)

  • Just Asking: If Vanessa Hudgens is just old enough to get her driver's license, why does she look 35? (People)

  • Craig's List

A new article in Sunday's Idaho Statesman includes interviews with EIGHT more men who say they have been on the receiving end of Sen. Larry Craig's sexual shenanigans (four of them allowed their names to be used). They say they are telling their stories now because they are offended by Craig's denials, including his famous statement, "I am not gay, I never have been gay." As previously mentioned, those words, spoken on live national TV on Aug. 28, are now memorialized on a just-released-for-Christmas Talking Sen. Larry Craig Action Figure.

The Statesman goes to say: The denials began June 30, 1982, when CBS broke news of a scandal alleging gay sex between congressmen and underage pages. The following day, before any public allegation that he was involved, then-Rep. Craig issued a denial. Craig married a year later and adopted the three children of his wife, Suzanne. In 1990, the Idaho Statesman asked Craig about an allegation that he was gay made by an opponent in his first Senate race. "Why don't you ask my wife?" Craig replied.

I had no idea those kids -- who have spent their share of time on television defending him -- were actually not his. The article allows each of Craig's accuser to give their account of what happened with the old-coot closet case. Here are excerpts from two of Larry's most shining moments:

David Phillips said he met Craig at the DC strip club Follies and went back to a house on Capitol Hill with him. Craig removed his suit coat, but otherwise remained dressed. He said Craig first performed oral sex on him, and then unzipped his pants so Phillips could reciprocate. Craig then left the room, returning with condoms and lubricant. The two men then had anal sex. Afterward, Craig became agitated and pressed Phillips to leave. "After the sex, he just wanted me out of there," Phillips said. He said Craig stuck $20 in his pocket and said, "'I can buy and sell your ass a thousand times over. You were never here.'"

And Craig's encounter with Ted Haggard's famed hooker, Mike Jones, went something like this:
Craig removed his coat and dress shirt, leaving his T-shirt, slacks and shoes on when he climbed onto Jones' massage table. Craig asked that Jones be naked. Craig undid his own zipper and masturbated while performing oral sex on Jones. When Craig finished, he paid Jones $200 in cash and left.

Naturally, the horny lawmaker still can't understand why everyone's picking on him (again): "It is unfortunate that the Idaho Statesman has chosen to continue to lower itself to the standards of what can best be described as tabloid journalism," Craig said in the statement. "Despite the fact the Idaho Statesman has decided to pursue its own agenda and print these falsehoods without any facts to back them up, I won't let this paper's attempt to malign my name stop me from continuing my work to serve the people of Idaho." You do that, Lar. (IdahoStatesman/AP)

I couldn't wait for Thursday Ad Watch to tell you about this: Dolce & Gabbana have really outdone themselves with this sexy ad campaign for their D&G Time watch collection. I saw this one, below, on television last night and couldn't believe my eyes:

    World AIDS Day

Learn more about what you can do to fight HIV/AIDS here.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge three special people who touched my life whose lives were taken far too soon by this horrible disease. They're gone but forever in my heart:

Mike Rosentreter (I miss your infectious laugh)
Walter Johnston (I miss your sharp tongue)
Mark Cryts (I miss your incredible cooking)
