Team Europe reclaimed the Laver Cup from defending champion Team World with a commanding 13-5 victory at London’s O2 Arena. Jakub Mensik and Flavio Cobolli won Sunday’s opening doubles before Alexander Zverev clinched the trophy with a 7-6 (3), 6-3 victory over Learner Tien.
The victory gave Europe a record-extending sixth title in nine editions of the event, compared with three for Team World.
Leylah Fernandez won the final nine games to dispatch first-time WTA finalist Talia Gibson 7-5, 6-0 in Singapore, giving the Canadian her first title of 2026 and sixth of her career.
Kimberly Birrell captured her first WTA singles title by defeating fellow Australian Maya Joint 6-4, 6-2 in Seoul, the tour’s first all-Australian final since 2017.
Wimbledon finalists Linda Noskova and Karolina Muchova went from rivals to teammates, leading Czechia to a 2-0 victory over Ukraine in the Billie Jean King Cup final in Shenzhen. Muchova beat Anhelina Kalinina 6-2, 6-3 before Wimbledon champion Noskova sealed Czechia’s record-extending 12th title -- and first since 2018 -- with a 6-3, 7-6 (5) win over Elina Svitolina.
