Pubic Enemy No. 1

Stalker shows up at Hugh Jackman's gym and throws a hair-filled razor at him: sources

Wow, this woman sounds crazy. Like Hugh Jackman needs another woman in his life!

The New York Post reports:
She crossed the bikini line.A deranged female stalker burst into Hugh Jackman’s West Village gym and threw an electric razor filled with her pubic hair at him during his morning workout yesterday, police sources told The Post. She was screaming “I love you!” as a staffer dragged her away from the star.

The actor, who plays Wolverine in the “X-Men” movies, was exercising at Gotham Gym on Washington Street at about 8 a.m. when Kathleen Thurston, 47, bushwhacked him.

The blond stalker, wearing khaki pants and a blue hoodie, was hysterically sobbing as she slipped past the check-in desk at the tiny gym and made a beeline for the actor, said Mike Castle, 35, a Gotham trainer.“She was crying,” said Castle, who was in the facility’s boxing ring. “I physically removed her from the place, then I called the cops.”

Thurston shouted her desperate declaration of love for Jackman. Then she reached into her waistband and launched the dirty razor at her obsession. Jackman thought the unhinged woman was grabbing for a gun or a knife, said one police source. He backed away as soon as she made a move for her nether regions.

Cops caught up with the woman a few blocks away at West 14th Street and Eighth Avenue, where she was arrested and hauled to the 6th Precinct station house. The NYPD Crime Scene Unit recovered the weapon and had to pick the hairs out of it to match them with her DNA, the source added.

Thurston, whose listed address is a Harlem shelter for the mentally ill, was charged with stalking and taken to Manhattan Criminal Court, where she was awaiting arraignment last night.
Keep reading HERE.

UPDATE: Asked about the incident later in the day, Jackman said: “For me, my main concern is for my family,” adding, “I just hope the woman gets the help she needs.” Asked if he was shaken up by the invasion, the actor said, “Yeah, a little.”

Hugh Jackman: En (Men's) Vogue

I had heard from a friend of mine at Conde Nast that a Men's Vogue was in the works, but I'd never seen it on the stands until yesterday when I was walking through the Port Authority in search of food on my dinner break at work. Naturally, any magazine with hunky Hugh Jackman on the cover gets my seal of approval, although it dawned on me when I finished flipping through the book that the only magazine I could see Men's Vogue stealing readers from would be GQ -- Conde Nast's flagship men's magazine. Am I missing something?

Elton John AIDS Foundation's 9th Annual Soiree

Elton John never struck me as the kind of person I would enjoy being around -- his agreeing to perform at Rush Limbaugh's wedding over the summer infuriated me almost as much as his anti-marriage-equality stance a few years ago -- and I'm hard-pressed to forgive anyone responsible for "I'm Still Standing," even if he did create many memorable tunes before it. But there's no way not to admire him for the work he does with his Elton John AIDS Foundation, whose "An Enduring Vision" soiree last night at Cipriani, Wall Street, was clearly the hottest ticket in town this fall in New York. You know that old queen wasn't messing around, either, when there's nary a reality star in sight, and a room full of A-list movie stars, rock stars, producers, sports legends and fashion designers. Since its founding in 1993, the foundation has raised more than $220 million to support HIV/AIDS programs in 55 countries around the world, and last night's event undoubtedly added handsomely to that total. And speaking of handsome, here's a look at the power gays and the people who love/support them ...

The 'Scoop' on Hugh Jackman

The trailer for the new Woody Allen movie, "Scoop," looks like yet another post-Mia disaster (trying the "Anything Else" formula again with a splash of "Alice" was probably not the way to go coming off the quasi-comeback "Crimes and Misdemeanors" remake "Match Point"). That said, Hugh Jackman seems to have been used to maximum shirtless effect, which may be reason enough to shell out $10.75 to see that chest on the big screen.

Fun Couple: Hugh Jackman and Nacho Figueras

Hugh Jackman and Nacho Figueras were the co-hosts of the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Governor's Island over the weekend -- and I see I wasn't the only one biting my lip about the whole thing.

Morticia and Gomez Do Broadway

Ben Brantley may have thought "The Addams Family" Broadway musical was all together ooky (I've always been a Munsters man, myself), but my friends who went to last night's premiere said it was fun. And even if it did suck, you could always stare at Hugh Jackman in the audience (like I did at Kylie).

Orange-Glo: Hugh Jackman

Which couple will come out first? Hoda and Kathie Lee or Matthew Broderick and Victor Garber

Fun dates: Elaine Stritch and Christine Baranski

I'll bet you'll never guess which Addams family member Kevin Chamberlin plays

Take a bow: Bebe Neuwirth and Nathan Lane

Hugh Jackman's 'Back on Broadway'

Hugh Jackman -- who recently revealed that he learned about America as a young boy in Australia by watching "great American movie musicals from the golden era" (didn't we all, honey?) -- looks to be quite at home at the Broadhurst Theatre in preparation for his return to the Great White Way. His turn as Peter Allen in "The Boy From Oz," you might remember, was fab-u-lous! More pics HERE.

Afternoon Headlines

  • Some Like it Pop: An Andy Warhol painting sold for more than $71 million, more than quadrupling the previous top auction price for the pop artist's work, an auction house said. The Wednesday auction of postwar and contemporary art took in a total of nearly $385 million, making it the second most lucrative art auction ever held, according to Christie's. The auction was to continue Thursday. Warhol's painting "Green Car Crash (Green Burning Car I)," went for $71.7 million to an anonymous buyer. The previous auction record for a Warhol work was $17.4 million, set when "Mao" sold at Christie's in November, the auction house said. Another Warhol, Lemon Marilyn, an iconic image of Marilyn Monroe, sold for $28 million.(AP)

  • Inn Hot Water: So poor little rich girl Tori Spelling's in trouble again, and this time it's not just with Candy. It seems her new "reality" show, "Tori & Dean: Inn Love" may have faked the entire premise of the show -- that the couple decided to shake things up by "leaving their Hollywood home, selling their stuff at an estate sale and investing Tori’s $800,000 inheritance into their new business venture -- bed and breakfast for their generation." The problem, you ask? Apparently the inn is just being leased, despite the fact that the show featured a scene in which the couple "close the deal by phone." Maybe "invest" means something different in the 90210 part of town. (NYT)

  • That Book by Nabokov: Gee, how could anyone -- let alone Amy Fisher -- resist a catch like Joey Buttafuoco, especially the 53-year-old fresh-from-prison (again) version? (NYP)

  • Jacked Up? Is movie star Hugh Jackman really moving to the small screen? CBS's fall lineup includes "Viva Laughlin," the U.S. adaptation of the BBC musical drama "Viva Blackpool," about a guy trying to open a casino in Laughlin, Nev., starring Lloyd Owen and Hugh Jackman. (I don't get it.) And the Times reports that "perhaps the most anticipated is 'Gossip Girl,' based on the book series, about the rivalries at an exclusive Manhattan prep school and the unknown gossipmonger who chronicles it all by text message. Among the stars is Blake Lively of 'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.'" As my friend put it, it sounds like an instant fag hit -- "but then again, why watch it on t.v. when some of us live it already? (WP)

Fun Couple: Neil Patrick Harris and Hugh Jackman

Didn't catch the Tony Awards last night -- was on a plane coming back from Tulsa -- but I hear Neil Patrick Harris did a great job hosting. Not sure where former host Hugh Jackman fits into the program, but this is a potential celebrity sex tape line-up I could get behind.

    Desert Heat

Hugh Jackman says he has no regrets about taking the premiere of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" out of Hollywood and into the city of Tempe, Ariz., home of Arizona State University.

"No one in L.A. is sleeping out overnight when they already had tickets to the best seat in the house," Jackman said of the thousands of passionate fans lining the barricades. "I love this place," Jackman said of the Phoenix suburb. "I'm moving here. It's awesome."

Well, that's sweet of you to say, Hugh. But let's not get carried away. Also in attendance were co-stars will.i.am, Lynn Collins, Ryan Reynolds, Liev Schreiber and Taylor Kitsch, working his best "trying not to look attractive" look. (AP/AZ Republic)
